PROJECT TIMELINE
PHASE 1 - COMPLETE
May, 2014:
First: In May 2014, we had an intense 3-week developmental workshop, which allowed us to experiment with approach, concept, text, physicality, and structure, simultaneously developing both the content and the means of expressing it. Ginsberg’s words functioned predominantly as a soundscape, while an ensemble of six young men worked to achieve physical expression beyond the constraints of language and simultaneously experimented with the function of design elements.
Then: We held three work-in-progress presentations with an invited audience of artistic peers, followed by feedback sessions and Q&A (where the production team asked the audience questions regarding their mental, emotional, and visceral response to the piece, perception of content, and reaction to the experience).
Finally: We exited the workshop process with a working draft of an audio-visual script/score and a physical map of the show as a whole.
